The Turks and Caicos Islands consist of 40 islands and cays, eight of which are inhabited. These islands are located 550 miles southeast of Miami, Florida, just below the Bahamas chain and just to the east of Cuba and the island of Hispaniola. So if technically seen, the Caicos Islands are located in the Atlantic Ocean, not the Caribbean Sea.

The Turks and Caicos Islands populates around 30,000 full time residents among whom the main language of communication is English. The original residents of Caicos Islands are mostly descendants of Africans however it also has a large chunk of expatriate population too. More than 200,000 tourists visit these islands annually.
